Information you provide
We may collect information you choose to enter, including your name, phone number, email address, delivery address, city, postal code, order notes, product choices and messages. If you request a FurnLiving callback, we may also store the page you requested help from and the furniture category you selected so our team can respond with relevant options.
Incomplete form drafts
To help us identify abandoned enquiries and checkout problems, public contact and checkout forms can save a first-party draft while you type. A draft may include fields you have already entered even if you do not submit the form. Passwords, security tokens and anti-spam fields are excluded. Submitted forms are marked as submitted in the administrative dashboard.
Website analytics and IP information
FurnLiving operates a first-party analytics system that can record page views, internal clicks, referring pages, browser/device information, timestamps, a first-party visitor identifier and your public IP address. IP-based location is approximate and may identify a city, province and country; it is not treated as a precise street location.
Google Analytics and Pinterest measurement
When enabled by FurnLiving, this website also uses Google Analytics 4 to measure page views and selected shopping or engagement events such as product views, add-to-cart activity, checkout starts, callback requests and completed order requests. Google may process technical information such as device/browser data, page URLs, referral information and measurement identifiers under Google’s own privacy terms. FurnLiving does not intentionally send names, phone numbers, email addresses or checkout street addresses to Google Analytics. The website may also load the Pinterest Tag for Pinterest campaign and visit measurement. Pinterest processes its tag data under Pinterest’s own privacy practices.
Optional precise location
After an initial delay, the website may ask whether you want to share your browser location. This is optional. If you allow it, latitude/longitude and a reverse-geocoded city, province, country, postal/street information and formatted address may be stored to improve delivery estimates and service analytics. The detected address is kept in a separate field and never replaces the checkout address you type. You may decline or postpone the prompt for 10 minutes, one day or one week.
Location service providers
Location resolution uses a fallback chain so the site can continue if a provider is unavailable. Depending on what is needed, requests may be sent to BigDataCloud, OpenStreetMap Nominatim, Photon/Komoot, Esri ArcGIS, geocode.xyz, FreeIPAPI, ipwho.is, ReallyFreeGeoIP, IPinfo's public endpoint and countries.dev. Providers receive only the technical information needed for the lookup, such as coordinates or an IP address, and their own terms/privacy practices apply.
How we use information
We use data to process orders, estimate and arrange Ontario delivery, respond to enquiries and callback requests, manage email subscriptions you explicitly confirm, understand site performance, identify incomplete enquiries, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the website and meet applicable legal obligations. We do not sell customer personal information.
Email subscriptions
Newsletter subscriptions use double opt-in. Entering an email address creates a pending subscription and we send a confirmation link; marketing subscription becomes active only after that link is confirmed. Every marketing email should provide an unsubscribe option.
Cookies and local storage
The website uses a session cookie for cart/security functions and a first-party visitor identifier for analytics. Browser local storage is used for the optional location prompt, postponement choices, saved detected-location details and to avoid sending the same browser-side order conversion event repeatedly. When Google Analytics or the Pinterest Tag is enabled, those third-party services may use cookies or similar browser technologies according to their own settings and privacy practices. Clearing browser site data can remove local records.
Sharing and service providers
Information may be shared with hosting, communications, delivery, security or other service providers only as reasonably necessary to provide the service, or when required by law.
Retention and security
Analytics retention can be configured by the administrator; the default event-retention target is 180 days. Order, communication and warranty/exchange records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary. We use reasonable technical safeguards, but no internet system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can decline precise location, postpone the location prompt, clear first-party browser storage, or contact us about access/correction questions where applicable. Some records may need to be retained for legitimate business, fraud-prevention, warranty/exchange or legal purposes.
